Board of Directors – Open Positions

  • Secretary (2-year commitment)

    • Take and maintain minutes for all Board meetings and keep official records for the organization.

    • Maintain up-to-date contact information for all Board and Committee members.

    • Spearhead and oversee Board member onboarding and offboarding processes.

    • Ensure Board and Committee members have access to the organization's shared drive and troubleshoot google account access, whenever necessary.

    • Maintain the organization’s ‘Calendar of Initiatives’ as needed to maintain transparency and communication on current projects and initiatives. 

    • Work with the Treasurer to support nonprofit and 501(c)(3) compliance requirements, as needed.

  • Treasurer (2-year commitment)

    • Oversee the management and reporting of NHWHE’s finances by keeping records of all receipts and expenditures and dispersing the organization’s funds as required.  

    • Present a report of NHWHE’s financial position at each Board meeting and at the Chair’s request.  

    • Keep the Board regularly informed of key financial events, obligations and projected costs of upcoming events.

    • Advises the Board on financial issues in order to accomplish goals set forth in the strategic plan. 

    • Responsible to execute all contracts for the purchase of goods and services on behalf of NHWHE. 

    • Responsible for requesting and processing sponsorship invoice.

    • Monitor and ensure compliance with 501(c):3 laws, regulations, and reporting requirements.

  • Communications Co-Chair – Email (2-year commitment)

    As one of three Communications Co-Chairs, this role is responsible for overseeing NHWHE’s email communications and is responsible for creating persuasive and engaging emails to drive event participation and member engagement.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Create and send emails to share updates and promote events.

    • Keep the email contact list accurate and organized.

    • Work with the team to develop email content that supports NHWHE’s goals.

    • Track email performance and suggest improvements.

    • Ensure emails follow privacy and accessibility standards.

    • Update the most recent ‘Calendar of Initiatives’ as needed to maintain transparency and communication on current projects and initiatives.

  • Member-At-Large (Legal/Governance Focus) (2-year commitment)

    The Member-at-Large (Legal/Governance Focus) serves as a voting member of the Board and supports the organization’s mission through strategic leadership, committee participation, and legal/governance expertise. This role participates on at least one committee and helps advance goals outlined in the strategic plan while contributing to the overall sustainability and effectiveness of the organization.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Providing guidance on nonprofit governance, policies, compliance, and risk management

    • Supporting the development, review, and maintenance of bylaws and organizational policies

    • Offering general insight on contracts, sponsorships, partnerships, and organizational initiatives

    • Supporting the work of the Board to accomplish strategic priorities and organizational goals

    • Participating regularly in NHWHE programs, meetings, and events

Committees – Open Positions

  • Conference Committee (1-year commitment)

    Conference Committee members play a crucial role in the execution of the NHWHE annual conference. Responsibilities may include calling for speakers, reviewing submitted presentations, assisting in the development of the program, on-site coordination of sessions, and supporting logistical arrangements to ensure a smooth and successful event.

  • Fundraising & Sponsorship Committee (1-year commitment)

    Fundraising & Sponsorship Committee members help strengthen NHWHE’s sustainability and growth by supporting fundraising initiatives and campaigns. Responsibilities may include identifying sponsorship opportunities, assisting with donor engagement and stewardship, and collaborating with the Board on long-term financial strategy.

  • Programming Committee (1-year commitment)

    Programming Committee members are responsible for shaping the NHWHE programming and event execution. They may be asked to participate in discussions to identify emerging trends and topics of interest to NHWHE members as well as support in coordination of speakers and logistics related to the programs.
