Mentor Collective
What We Offer
The NHWHE Mentoring Collective program is designed to cultivate meaningful connections, empower leadership growth, and strengthen the higher education community across New Hampshire. Grounded in collaboration and community, the program aims to support participants across career stages, roles, and institutional contexts.
The program features a dynamic mentoring model that brings together a panel of mentors with a cohort of mentees in a group mentoring setting that fosters reciprocal learning, shared expertise, and professional advancement. Session topics include Career Paths, Leadership Styles & Philosophies, Team and Organization Culture, Managing Up, Laterally, and Outside My Role, and Leadership Opportunities and Succession Planning.
-
All NHWHE Mentoring Collective sessions are available virtually using a videoconferencing platform. The program will offer Fall and Spring cohorts. Participants register for a four-month cohort that features one 60-minute group mentoring session per month. The sessions will include a 15-minute introduction, 30 minutes of breakout discussions, and 15 minutes for closing remarks.
Registration is free, but limited to 10 cohort participants and 4-5 mentor panel members per session. Once your registration is confirmed, each participant will receive a calendar invitation with connection details. Attendance and participation in registered sessions is expected; if a participant cannot attend a discussion, we ask that they notify program managers.
Please note: So that everyone feels at ease speaking freely and mentors can have candid conversations about their experiences, these meetings won't be recorded.

The NHWHE Mentoring Collective program is designed to build meaningful connections and professional relationships. Interest in the cohorts is expected to be high, and spaces are intentionally limited so that every participant gets the chance to truly connect with dedicated statewide higher education mentors who have generously committed their time.
Program participants commit to:
Attend one 60-minute discussion session once per month
Prepare for the monthly session by reviewing that month’s topic and discussion questions in advance
Engage actively in discussion sessions
Appreciate a diversity of voices in discussion sessions, including varied identities, experiences, and professional roles

NHWHE Mentorship Collective is offered free of charge.
The program’s content and structure make it most relevant to women who reside in and aspire to be leadership and management positions in higher education. Individual contributors are welcome to participate with the understanding that discussion topics focus on leadership development and frequently address subjects from an organizational or management perspective.
Registration is prioritized to participants working at an institution of higher education in New Hampshire. Registration will be limited to 10 participants per cohort. We also hope to diversify the institutions represented and therefore participants may be contacted by a program manager and asked to delay participation to a future cohort if multiple participants register from a single institution.
NHWHE’s statement of inclusion:
We are a nonprofit community of women leaders united by a shared mission to advance equity, inspire leadership and expand opportunities across higher education in New Hampshire. Whether you are a student, faculty member, administrator, or professional in the field, your voice matters—and you belong here. While our work centers on supporting and elevating women leaders, we welcome allies of all genders who share our commitment to inclusive leadership and equity in higher education.
